New York: Paul McCartney’s son James has said that he would like to see a new generation of The Beatles and is thinking of starting a band with other offspring of the Fab Four.
James McCartney has expressed his desire to see such a project take shape.
On the eve of his gig at the Cavern Club in Liverpool on Tuesday, McCartney was asked by BBC, “What would you say to forming The Beatles - The Next Generation, with Sean Lennon, Dhani Harrison and Zak Starkey [Ringo Starr’s son]?”
The 34-year-old rocker answered that he’d be “happy to do it”.
“I don’t think it’s something that Zak wants to do… Maybe [Starr’s other son and fellow drummer] Jason would want to do it. I’d be up for it. Sean seemed to be into it, Dhani seemed to be into it,” the New York Daily News quoted him as saying.
The younger McCartney has himself played guitar on two of his father’s albums.
However, the other Beatles sons do have their own careers as Harrison fronts thenewno2 and Lennon is an established singer/songwriter.
“I don’t know, you’d have to wait and see.
“The will of God, nature’s support, I guess. So yeah, maybe,” James said.
