New Delhi: Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi has unveiled a new Redmi 3S smartphone in China. The new smartphone comes with a huge 4100mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S will be available in two variants based on memory and inbuilt storage – a 2GB RAM and a 16GB version that has been priced at CNY 699 (approximately Rs 7,000), and the 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage model which has priced at CNY 899 (approximately Rs 9,000).
The smartphone features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display and is powered by all-new octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.1GHz clubbed with Adreno 505 GPU.
It runs MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and sports a 13MP rear camera with PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and a 5MP front camera with 1080p video recording capability.
The Redmi 3S is dual-SIM handset (Micro + Nano) which comes with hybrid SIM slot which means the second slot also acts as a microSD slot.
It also means that the memory can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.
The device comes in grey, silver, and gold colour variants and will go on sale in China starting Thursday via Mi.com.
However, there has been no date yet about the global availability of the handset.
