Glad to not know about Vanessa`s molestation, says her mother

London: ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Vanessa Williams` mother is glad that she was unaware of her daughter being molested in her teenage years.

Williams` mother Helen says she would have spent her life in prison for seeking vengance on the girl who seduced her daughter, reported a website. "I would have been a very unhappy, angry mother and I`m not sure I`d be wanting to be in jail for somebody doing something... That I would have had to do some bodily harm to," Helen said. Williams has co-authored a book named `You Have No Idea` with Helen, in which she reveals she was molested by the 18-year-old daughter of a family friend when she was 10 years old. Helen said she did not know about the incident till she read it in Williams` memoir. PTI
