Pop singers are not shallow: Katy Perry

London: Actress-singer Katy Perry has hit out at critics who think pop music is too shallow.

"When you write a pop song, people think, `Ok your pop songs are pop songs` and they are really whatever. But if you listen to the lyrics, each line has a meaning and purpose," dailystar.co.uk quoted her as saying.
