Juhi Chawla, joining politics?

Addressing reports of her joining politics, actress Juhi Chawla has cleared the air saying she has no intentions of contesting an election or joining any party.

Mumbai: Addressing reports of her joining politics, actress Juhi Chawla has cleared the air saying she has no intentions of contesting an election or joining any party.
There was a buzz that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was mulling over launching Juhi as a BJP candidate in Gujarat Assembly elections scheduled in December this year, fielding her against Congress MLA Arjun Modhwadia. "I am in another space. I don`t think I will be able to connect with them. I am not joining politics. I don`t intend to contest elections. I am happy to be back to doing normal things, be it films or other work," Juhi told PTI. Surprised by such rumours, the 44-year-old actress, married to industrialist Jai Mehta, said, "I was in Uganda holidaying with family when I got to know about this. I was totally away, cut off from things happening here. All I can say is Jay`s family has a commendable respect in Porbandar." Meanwhile, Juhi is looking forward to the release of India`s first animated stereoscopic feature film `Krishna Aur Kans`. The actress has lent her voice to the character of Yashoda in the film. `Krishna Aur Kans` has been written by Kamlesh Pandey and directed by Vikram Veturi. "I was elated that I was asked to do voice over for such a lovely character. It is not easy. I used to go to the studio where you have no film to watch since you have not acted it out. Here you have to imagine the scene and understand what the director is explaining. I did whatever I could. I gave my best," Juhi said. Being a mother of two kids - daughter Jhanvi and son Arjun - her real life experience helped her in the voice over. "I remember a part where I was recording for the childhood days of Krishna and the incident where he was picked up by a tornado demon. I had to scream and cry for Krishna. I was trying to imagine how I would react if something similar happened to my baby, or how would I play with my baby, things like that," she said. "I was drawing from my experience and then imagining Krishna and Yashoda," she added. The film is set to release this Friday. PTI
