New Delhi: Online e-commerce platform Flipkart has irked (Indian Institute of Management) IIM Ahmedabad students over two matters –one over delayed joining date, other over poor compensation being offered to the students for late joining.

The case relates to the recruitment of 18 IIM Ahmdedabad students during February. The joining date of these recruits were fixed for June. However, Flipkart delayed the joining date at the 11th hour citing some restructuring at their office.

Flipkart has now pushed the date to December and has offered a lump sum amount of Rs 1.5 lakh.

Meanwhile, the IIM, in a strongly worded letter addressed to addressed to CEO Binny Bansal, Chief People Officer Nitin Seth and Executive Chairman Sachin Bansal has said that the compensation being offered by the company is too low.

It has also asked Flipkart to give a written assurance that students will have their job secured when they are ready to join in December.
