Mumbai: Superstar Rajesh Khanna, who bade farewell to the world on Wednesday, has left behind – apart from memories and inconsolable fans – people who are now on the verge of a war of sorts. News has it that Anita Advani, Rajesh Khanna’s former ‘ladylove’, who the superstar had supposedly planned to get married to some years back, has demanded a share of Khanna’s property.
The actor, who has left behind an empire of approximately Rs 200 crores, had been taken care of by Advani during his illness. Kaka’s property includes ‘Aashirwad’, the bungalow on Carter Road in Bandra, Mumbai. Anita Advani, who had been residing in Aashirwad for quite some time now, had sent a notice to Khanna’s family asking them to not evict her from her residence – Aashirwad. The notice, which had been sent to the Khanna family on Tuesday, also charges Rajesh Khanna with domestic violence.
According to sources, Khanna had wished that his bungalow be converted into a museum after his death. However, Anita Advani doesn’t want the same. Daughters Twinkle and Rinke have also expressed their desire to see the residence converted into a Rajesh Khanna museum.
For the last one month, Khanna’s family had been trying to evict Anita from the bungalow, sources have revealed. Advani claims that she had been by the ailing superstar’s side for the last eight years. Reportedly, she had also tried to get on to the hearse vehicle that was used to transport Khanna’s mortal body to the crematorium. However, Akshay Kumar had, according to Advani, not let her do the same saying that she did not belong to Rajesh Khanna’s family.
