Mumbai: Ever since he was admitted to the Seven Hills Hospital on Saturday, the entire country has been praying for megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s speedy recovery. News has it that the actor is to be relieved from the hospital today.
Big B underwent an abdominal surgery owing to bilateral inguinal hernia, which according to son Abhishek, is a legacy of the ‘Coolie’ injury. In 1982, the actor had suffered an-almost fatal injury on the sets of the film, and has been ill off and on since then.
According to Dr. Vinod Chandi Ramani, head of general surgery at PD Hinduja Hospital, inguinal hernia is a very common problem among men. Talking to a daily, he said, “Inguinal hernia is the most common problem in men and its only treatment is via surgery. However, many people are misguided that medicines and yoga can cure the disease. This leads to the delay in the operation and worsens the condition.”
Big B underwent the surgery on Saturday, and has been recovering steadily thenceforth. The operation was smooth, and amidst pain the actor had tweeted, “… yes there’s pain, but nothing good in life ever achieved without it.”
We pray that you get back on your feet as soon as possible, Big B!
