Noel Gallagher pens 42 tracks for new album

London: Oasis star Noel Gallagher has written 42 songs for his new album.

The 45-year-old singer has been busy penning tracks for his new Noel Gallagher`s High Flying Birds record, but says he would love to take a 10-year break like David Bowie if only his wife Sara MacDonald would let him, reported Daily Star. "Writing songs is my real hobby and I`m lucky enough to have made a career out of it. I can easily see me taking 10 years off - I`d do it now if the missus would let me," Gallagher said. "I`d do absolutely nothing if I could get away with it, as I`m brilliant at that. I wouldn`t bother getting any hobbies either - unless drinking tea and smoking qualify as hobbies. That`s all I`d do. And maybe watch telly all day, if that wasn`t too much effort," he added. PTI
