London, Aug 14: Several voluntary organisations, under the banner of South Asia Solidarity Plan to hold a picket at the Wembley Conference Centre here on Sunday to protest
against the visit of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, for his alleged role in communal violence.
Modi, who arrives here on Saturday on a four-day visit to
attract NRI investment to Gujarat, is scheduled to address a
gathering at the Wembley Conference Centre on Sunday evening.
The meeting, 'Vibrant Gujarat' is organised by the overseas
friends of the BJP.
In a statement, the South Asia Solidarity said that though the Chief Minister's visit is ostensibly to attract British-based business to invest in Gujarat, "Modi will also be using it to gather support and funds from pro-Hindutva organisations."
