London: Hollywood actress Jessica Alba and `Vampire Dairies` star Ian Somerhalder were feted in Los Angeles for their green commitment at the 2012 Environmental Media Awards.
Alba, who founded eco-friendly baby firm The Honor Company, received the prestigious Green Parent Award and Somerhalder, who launched his own organisation to help protect the world`s animals and eco-systems, was handed the Futures Award, reported Daily Mail online.
The ceremony, which honours the year`s best in TV and movies for educating others about important environmental issues, also recognised the cast of Dr Seuss` The Lorax, which took home the feature film prize and hit US series `Veep`, which bested the competition in the small screen category.
The 22nd annual event was hosted by pregnant actress Malin Akerman.
