Osian’s Cinefan: Ranvir Shorey, Vinay Pathak bring the curtains down on last day

It was a befitting end to the 10 day extravaganza called Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival. Hosted by the extremely talented and funny duo, Ranvir Shorey and Vinay Pathak, the closing ceremony could easily be described as –spectacular.

New Delhi: It was a befitting end to the 10 day extravaganza called Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival. Hosted by the extremely talented and funny duo, Ranvir Shorey and Vinay Pathak, the closing ceremony could easily be described as –spectacular. The crème da le crème of Indian and International art house cinema was present to honour those whose films were showcased at the film festival. Films from India, Japan, Iran, Turkey and other Asian and Arab countries were showcased at the film festival. Some of the films were premiered at the festival and were included in the competition. Noted filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap, Imtiaz Ali, Dibakar Banerjee and others interacted with viewers and discussed filmmaking. Stars like Irrfan Khan, Sanjay Suri, Kalki Koechlin, Pratiek all came to share their passion for cinema with other cinema lovers. The closing night honoured the films in various categories. Award for best director, best actress, best actor and best film was awarded in Indian, Arab and Asian films category. Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dixit was the special guest of the award ceremony. Dixit congratulated Neville Tully, the founder of the organisation, on the success of the festival and also welcomed the idea of making Delhi the second city for cinema. Kolkata theatre actor Shadab Kamal was adjudged as the best actor in the Indian cinema category for his role in ‘BA Pass’ while Bengali actress Ri was given the best actress trophy for ‘Cosmic Sex.’ ‘BA Pass’ was also given the best film award. Theatre actor Manav Kaul’s film ‘Hamsa’ was given both the audience award as well as the best film of the festival award by the critics. The glittering ceremony was attended by eminent film personalities like Anurag Kashyap, Lillette Dubey, Seema Biswas, Meeta Vashisht, Anurag Kashyap and filmmaker Muzzafar Ali along with his wife Meera.
