John Mayer cuts off long locks following Katy Perry split

Los Angeles: Just days after splitting from pop star Katy Perry, singer John Mayer has shorn off his long locks to debut a much shorter hairstyle.

The 34-year-old singer showed off the new style on Saturday as he joined Mindy Kaling to celebrate her new show, `The Mindy Project` in Los Angeles, reported People magazine. The "Your Body is a Wonderland" hit maker, who had been sporting long, shoulder-length locks, traded his unruly hair for a shorter, neater look. Right after he got the new do, Mayer sporting a red T-shirt headed off in his Range Rover, and took a moment to check out his new look in his side-view mirror, according to an observer. The singer-songwriter who has long accessorized his mane with floppy hats grew out his hair during his two-year hiatus from the spotlight. Despite the recent split, Mayer`s social life hasn`t suffered. On Thursday, was spotted out at Soho House in West Hollywood where he was seen sipping a Moscow mule and "flirting and talking" with two women, according to an observer. PTI
