Miami: Alexis Valdes is launching his second disc, "Con Carinito" (With Affection), a production he considers both a kind of "craziness" and a personal gift that he has worked on for the last three years.
The Cuban-American host of Mega TV`s "Esta Noche Tu Night" (Tonight Your Night) sees this experience as "a graduation" in music production.
Valdes said during an interview with EFE at his home in Miami that life is surprising because he made "this disc with the enthusiasm" that he puts into all his projects and it turned out to be "a kind of lottery" that ended up with "the best songs and the best work".
"There are things I`ve been getting rid of, things I started to do, that I invested money in and that I tossed aside. So finally this is the disc I`m happy with," he said.
The versatile actor and producer said he has been working on this project since 2007 when during a party at the home of Spanish singer David Bisbal he met the Venezuelan voice teacher Jose Miguel Velasquez, with whom he decided to take a few classes.
Velasquez, who knew that Valdes had composed songs for artists Andres Cepeda and Hector "El Torito" Acosta, asked him to sing one of his compositions.
That was the first step on the long road to creating "Con Carinito".
