Saif is the new nawab!

The 41-year-old actor, who until now was the erstwhile chote nawab of Bollywood, took the honorary title last held by his father at a pagdi ceremony held at his ancestral place - Ibrahim Palace, Haryana, where heads of 52 villages tied a white turban around his head. Initially, Saif was reluctant to fill into his father’s shoes as the title was no longer recognised by the government, but gave-in to the tradition to honour the emotions of villagers. As the newly minted nawab, Saif not only looks after his father’s estate but also takes care of his ancestral home, eye hospital and various other charitable institutions.
