Abhay is not my muse, says Dibakar

Mumbai: Even though they have worked together in ‘Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye’ and ‘Shanghai’ together,Dibakar Banerjee insists that Abhay Deol is not his muse. In fact, Banerjee only cast this Punjabi brat from Bandra in ‘Shanghai’ because he felt that Deol was perfectly suited for the role of Tamil Brahmin, IAS officer named Krishnan.

He adds, Abhay being very cautious about the roles he plays further makes him a perfect fit for the character. For the role of ‘Krishnan’, Dibakar wanted a guy who is in his 30`s or 40`s, is gracious with an underlying curiosity and zeal to be perfect. However, it is the same tough persona that makes him enticing to women. And Abhay fit the role to the tee. Bureau Report
