Mumbai: Born as Abhas Kumar Ganguly on the 4th August 1929, the legendary singer who later came to be known as Kishore Kumar mesmerised the audiences by his sheer singing talent for decades. The singer, actor, lyricist, composer, producer, director, screenwriter and scriptwriter, holds the record of winning maximum number of Filmfare Awards in the category of Best Male Playback Singer. Even after four decades, people still sing songs of the legendary playboy singer. Songs like ‘Nadiya Se Dariya’, ‘Chuu Kar Mere Mann Ko’, ‘O Mere Dil Ke Chain’, ‘Pyar maanga hein tumise’, ‘Yeh kya huwa kaise huwa’, ‘Meri Bheegi Bheegi Si’ and ‘Aane Wala Pal Jane Wala Hai’ are still favourite among the youngsters. A couple of years ago, filmmaker Anurag Basu had announced a film based on Kishore Kumar with actor Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. However, the film is still to take off. When contacted by reporters, Basu said that he is extremely committed to the project. The veteran singer was remembered by Bollywood folks, celebs and his fans on his 83rd birthday.
