New Delhi: Much to the delight of air passengers, the government on Wednesday cleared the new Civil Aviation Policy wherein it also capped airfares at Rs 2,500 for an hour-long flight.
Other new measures included capping of Rs 1,200 for a 30-minute flight, abolished the 5/20 rule and replaced it with 0/20, which means that airline companies will now be able to fly overseas with only twenty aircrafts without being in operation for a minimum of five years.
And while praises have come in from various angle, Anand Mahindra, the MD of Mahindra Group was also full of praise for the new policy.
"The aviation minister moved slowly & unassumingly but has unveiled a modern, practical policy. One more goal scored for reform...," he tweeted.
