Simon Cowell named richest Brit celeb

London: Simon Cowell has topped the wealthiest British celebrity list, beating David Beckham, Sir Elton John and Adele.

According to OK! magazine’s official list of the 100 richest celebs of 2011, the 52-year-old music mogul, earned a mammoth 57 million pounds, the Daily Star reported. Most of Cowell’s fortune comes from the rights to worldwide TV phenomenon ‘The X Factor’ and the ‘Got Talent’ franchise. He pipped rockers U2, who made 55 million pounds in 2011 as they completed their epic three-year tour. Elton John and Take That both put 40 million pounds in their bank vaults with their sell-out shows. Pop princess Adele, who won six Grammys this week, was the highest earner under 30. She was followed by fellow young guns Daniel Radcliffe on 22 million pounds and actress Keira Knightley (12 million pounds). LA Galaxy star David Beckham was the highest earning sports star, making 28 million pounds. ANI
