Mumbai: Sonu Sood confesses that he was so eager to work with filmmaker Ramesh Taurani that he gave his nod for "Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya" without even having read the script.
`Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya`, launch pad of Taurani`s son Girish Kumar, is produced under the Tips Industries Ltd banner. Shruti Haasan plays the female lead in it.
"I was in Canada when I got the call for the film and without even reading the script, I immediately said, `Yes, I will definitely do it`," the 40-year-old said here in an interview.
"This is because when I came to Mumbai 10 years ago, I met Rameshji (Taurani) and asked him, `When will I get a film?` And he said, `Very soon.` But it took him 10 years to take me (in a film)," added Sonu, who has also been signed by Taurani for an Akshay Kumar-starrer.
In `Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya`, set for July 19 release, Sonu plays Shruti`s strict brother.
`Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya` has been directed by Prabhudheva and also features veteran actors Vinod Khanna and Randhir Kapoor.
