Los Angeles: In upcoming movie ‘Zero Dark Thirty’, Jessica Chastian plays the role of a woman who gives priority to work over family life. The actress says she could relate to the character as she has faced a similar situation in real life.
Chastian, 35, plays the role of Maya, an analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
"When I first read the script, I was blown away by this woman. It is something I still get very emotional about. What happens when you live for this one goal? And then you achieve it," a magazine has quoted Chastian as saying.
The actress says she misses her friends and family a lot.
"I can relate to those aspects of being in the CIA. For the last three years, my life has been work and only work. I do miss my family. I do feel cut off from my friends," the actress said.
"Listen, I know being in the CIA is a lot more important than being an actress, but I do feel some empathy with the loneliness: you give away yourself," she added.
Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ is set to release Dec 19.
