Priyanka Chopra’s staff member dies in LA; no financial assistance to bring body back

Los Angeles: One of Priyanka Chopra’s assistant, Jiban Patra, had died almost a week back in Los Angeles, where the actor had been shooting with an entourage recently. However, the 41-year-old staff member’s body is still lying in a mortuary there and no attempts have been made so far to bring his body back to India. Patra was found dead in a hotel in Los Angeles on April 7. A case of unnatural death has been registered by the Los Angeles Police Department. Apparently, the police have given a nod to fly the body to India. Talking to a tabloid, a source from the US said, “Jiban has two kids and a wife back in Mumbai and they have been in constant touch with Priyanka Chopra`s office to arrange for his body to be brought back home. But nothing has worked out so far. The death was also hush-hush till the Indian community took it up strongly and put pressure on Priyanka to arrange for Jiban`s passage to India. It is a tragic case as he is the only earning member of the family and lost his father to heart attack last year.” Priyanka’s manager is in talks with the Indian Embassy, the tabloid reported.
