Mumbai: Actor Boman Irani, who has won accolades for his performances in films like `Munnabhai` series and `3 Idiots`, says that theatre hones acting skills. Boman made his entry into Bollywood with Vidhu Vinod Chopra`s home production, `Munnabhai MBBS`.
"There are several people who have done acting or drama classes, but I luckily did 15 years of theatre...that was my training ground and education as an actor," Boman said.
"I can learn the craft of acting by looking at people, observing them, etc. Every little thing, detail one can learn as an actor is purely by observation. Theatre is best acting school. I feel, in a way, theatre hones your skills," he said.
Talking about actors of Munnabhai series, director Rajkumar Hirani said that while Sanjay Dutt has "amazing memory" and improvises, Arshad Warsi takes the gist of the dialogue and says the lines the way he wants. "But when it comes to Boman Irani, I need six months` preparation."
Boman would be seen next in Sajid Khan`s comedy film, `Housefull 2` and Priyadarshan`s `Tezz`.
