Chennai: Actor Vikram-starrer Tamil film ‘Thaandavam’ has successfully passed the censor board test, and has been awarded a U-certificate.
"Delighted and happy `Thaandavam` censored and given clean U-certificate without any cuts. Hereby confirm release date as Sep 28," tweeted Dhananjayan Govind of UTV Motion Pictures.
The film, directed by A.L. Vijay, also stars Telugu actor Jagapati Babu, Amy Jackson, Anushka Shetty and Lakshmi Rai in key roles.
Director Vijay has made five films to date, and all of them have been awarded U- certification.
An action-thriller, "Thaandavam" tells the story of a RAW agent, played by Vikram, who avenges the injustice done to him.
One part of the role played by Vikram is of a blind man with the ability to echo-locate objects.
The actor underwent special training under the mentorship of Daniel Kish, an expert in human echo-location, who also plays a cameo in the film.
`Thaandavam` is releasing worldwide Sep 28.
