London: Sir Roger Moore has revealed how he took the coward’s way out and ditched his third wife over the phone, because a face-to-face confrontation would have left him shaken and stirred.
The legendary Bond star was married to Luisa Mattiolo when he began an affair with his fourth and current wife Kristina Tholstrup.
Moore, 84, who played 007 in seven films released between 1973 and 1985, admitted his behaviour was far removed from his on-screen persona.
“Did I say I was a nice person? I’m a coward,” Sky News quoted him as telling to Piers Morgan on his ITV1 chat show.
He went on to reveal that he fell in love with Mattiolo while he was still with his second wife Dorothy Squires.
“It was very selfish (to fall in love with Luisa),” he said.
“I was selfish, putting my feelings ahead of other people’s,” he added.
