Tom Cruise’s attorney hopes divorce won’t be contentious

New York: Tom Cruise’s attorney has spoken out following Katie Holmes’ divorce filing. The attorney, Bert Fields, hopes that the former couple isn’t headed towards a heated battle in the courtroom.

“I would hope that it’s not a contentious matter,” a website has quoted Fields as telling a leading daily. “I know Tom is not a particularly contentious person,” he said. The 33-year-old actress had filed for divorce from her movie-star husband on Thursday and hired New Jersey divorce lawyer Jonathan Wolfe and New York attorney Allan E. Mayefsky. Holmes is currently seeking sole custody of the couple’s six-year-old daughter, Suri. ANI
