London: Film producer Barbara Broccoli has said that she cast Daniel Craig as the new James Bond, as she knew that he is the right person to play the iconic spy.
Broccoli was determined to rope in the actor for the 007 project, after Pierce Brosnan was not given the go ahead for the next flick in the successful franchise.
The 52-year-old producer also revealed that her feeling was similar to her father Cubby, who was adamant that Sean Connery would play the part.
“There are parallels,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.
“I wanted Daniel and it was the same for Cubby when they wanted Sean. If it wasn’t for Sean, we wouldn’t all be here but Daniel has been an extraordinary Bond. He is very much the right Bond for the 21st century.
“The books really talked a lot about what was going on inside of Bond and the inner dialogue. When you have an actor like Daniel he’s able to convey the inner turmoil and the conflicts,” she added.
