London: Director Peter Jackson is planning to divide ‘The Hobbit: There and Back Again’ in two separate films.
``That`s a discussion we`re having. We have certainly been talking to the studio about some of the material we can`t film, and we`ve been asking them so we can do a bit more filming next year. I don`t know what would come of that, whether it`d be extended editions or whatnot. But those discussions are ongoing,`` Jackson said in the Warner Bros. press conference at Comic-Con.
Jackson thinks there is so much more material to explore, and hinted that the potential extra movie could be based on J.R.R. Tolkien`s 125 pages of additional notes found at the end of third "Lord of the Rings" book "The Return Of The King".
``I`d like to shoot a bunch more material that we could not shoot. There`s so much good stuff in the index that we have not been able to squeeze into these movies,`` he said.
The first film, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey", is scheduled for release Dec 14.
