Priyanka Chopra not interested in Prakash Jha’s ‘Satyagraha’

Speculations were rife a while back that Priyanka Chopra had been eyeing Prakash Jha’s ‘Satyagraha’.

Mumbai: After delivering a spectacular performance in the year’s first blockbuster ‘Agneepath’, and then facing the ire of critics for failing to impress in ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’, actress Priyanka Chopra is now shooting for ‘Krrish 3’. Speculations were rife a while back that the acclaimed actress had been eyeing Prakash Jha’s ‘Satyagraha’, and she had apparently been sending feelers to the director regarding the same. However, seems like Chopra is completely alien to the rumours that claimed her to be interested in Jha’s ‘Satyagraha’. Priyanka is supposedly unaware of what the film is all about and was quite surprised when she got to know what the grapevine had been all abuzz about. A close associate of the actress revealed to a website, “This is untrue. Priyanka has most definitely not approached Prakash Jha for any film. She is currently neck deep into shooting for ‘Krrish 3’. Moreover her international album is about to be released as well and she is making frequent trips between India and U.S.A. for that. There are a couple of projects already in the anvil. In between this all, where is the time to get committed to another film?" Prakash Jha had originally thought about Kareena Kapoor as his heroine in ‘Satyagraha’, it had been observed earlier. However, apparently the director is now giving a thought about casting Priyanka in the film. “That`s entirely his call. If he considers Priyanka for any film, she would be most delighted as she obviously holds the director in very high regard. However the truth is that for Satyagraha, Priyanka is definitely not in contention”, a trade source adds, “She has to promote ‘Barfi!’ and then also wrap up ‘Zanjeer’. In any case, she is not bothered by such rumours making the rounds. She would rather concentrate on work than react to such baseless speculations.”
