India's exports dip 5.66% to $20.73 billion in February

The trade deficit for April-February, 2015-16 was estimated at USD 113388.50 million which was lower than the deficit of USD 126298.78 million during April-February, 2014-15.

New Delhi: India's exports fell 5.66 percent to USD 20.73 billion in February. For the same month, imports also declined 5.03 percent to USD 27.28 billion.

Exports during February, 2016 were valued at USD 20738.60 million which was 5.66 percent lower in Dollar terms than the level of USD 21983.43 million during February, 2015.

Cumulative value of exports for the period April-February 2015-16 was USD 238418.11 million as against USD 286305.92 million registering a negative growth of 16.73 percent in Dollar terms and 10.86 percent in Rupee terms over the same period last year.

Imports during February, 2016 were valued at USD 27280.42 million which was 5.03 percent lower in Dollar terms  over the level of imports valued at USD 28725.38 million in February, 2015.

Cumulative value of imports for the period April-February 2015-16 was USD 351806.61 million as against USD 412604.70 million registering a negative growth of 14.74 percent in Dollar terms and 8.77 percent in Rupee terms over the same period last year.

The trade deficit for April-February, 2015-16 was estimated at USD 113388.50 million which was lower than the deficit of USD 126298.78 million during April-February, 2014-15.
