Katie smiled for the photographers and assured fans that she is doing fine after filing for divorce from Tom Cruise.

New York: Katie Holmes has assured fans that she is doing fine after filing for divorce from Tom Cruise.

The 33-year-old actress did not look like a woman going through a divorce and even smiled for the photographers. When approached by a New York Daily News reporter, Holmes said, "I`m alright. Thank you." A day earlier, the 33-year-old actress stopped by an ice cream parlor at the East Village with Suri to meet some friends. While inside, Holmes was seen laughing and enjoying the companion. Holmes reportedly rejected estranged husband Tom Cruise`s plea for her to fly to Iceland to save their marriage. Cruise had apparently asked her over the phone to come and visit him and celebrate his 50th birthday, on the set of his film "Oblivion" but she refused the offer. Cruise, who had planned to mark his 50th birthday in style, settled for a quiet lunch alongside his adopted children Conner and Isabella. PTI
