New Delhi: Bollywood star Anil Kapoor is returning to the prestigious BAFTA awards for a third time.
The actor, who first attended the ceremony with his ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ team, will present an award at the event on this Sunday at London`s Royal Opera House. It is Kapoor`s second turn as a presenter.
"I am extremely thrilled and delighted to be presenting at the BAFTA this year. It`s an absolute honour to be associated with the BAFTAs and to be returning to the award
ceremony for a third time," the actor said in a statement.
AR Rahman, Shekhar Kapur, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Freida Pinto are some of the big names from India, who have been associated with the awards in the past.
This year, Michel Hazanavicius`s silent film "The Artist" leads with nominations in 12 categories for the British Academy Film Awards, presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
Cold war era thriller "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" is nominated in 11 categories while Martin Scorsese`s tribute to cinema "Hugo" follows with nine nominations.
"My Week with Marilyn" picked up six nominations and "The Help" and "War Horse" are each nominated five times.
The titles competing for the Best film are "The Artist", "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy", "The Descendants", "Drive" and "The Help".
