Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said his government will act as a facilitator for smooth functioning of industry in the state as it was committed towards growth and development.

Taking part in a session of the ongoing '9th Enterprise Jharkhand', an industry and technology fair, at Gopal Maidan here, Das said four major thrust areas of the government were IT, Agriculture, Industry and Tourism.


He also pointed out that steps have been taken for 'Ease of Doing Business' to do away with bureaucratic hurdles and to allow industries flourish and pledged his government will act as a facilitator for smooth operation of the industry.


The Chief Minister announced that his government will be coming up with a separate policy on MSMEs and will also bring forward major incentives for the Mega Projects in the state.


Tata Steel Managing Director (India and South East Asia), T V Narendran, who is also a Deputy Chairman CII Eastern Region, highlighted various initiatives of CII at the Regional Level.


Narendran congratulated the state government for its proactive stance to address the concerns of industry and providing a conducive environment for industries.


He also proposed that a Destination Jharkhand meet can promote the state as a tourist destination amongst other states.


The five-day event that began on March 11 was an industry and technology fair encompassing various sectors relevant to sustainable economic growth.


The objective was to enable large, medium and small enterprises search opportunities for Business Co-operation and Joint Ventures.


The theme for this year fair is "Build Jharkhand - Driving Development".


The newly elected Chairman of CII, Jharkhand Council, A B Lall, who is also the Plant Head of Tata Motors here, Tarun Daga, recent Past Chairman of CII Jharkhand and S K Behera, Chairman MSME Subcommittee CII Eastern region, were also present on the occasion.
