Lady Gaga praises Adele for being confident about her weight

London: Pop star Lady Gaga, who recently hit headlines because of her weight gain, says she fails to understand why no one targets plus size singer Adele.

The 26-year-old has piled on 30 pounds and she said she is in awe of the way the 24-year-old `Someone Like You` hitmaker confidently carries herself, reported daily Mail online. "Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it? She is so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match. She has set the bar very high for a lot of women," Gaga said. The pop singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, said how her mother had called her and asked her whether she had gained weight after pictures were published in magazines and online. "I was acutely aware of some photos on the internet ? my mum called me and was like, `Did you gain weight?` ? everybody was telling me about it, and I didn`t really care. But when I heard it was on the news, where they talk about wars, the economy crashing and the election ? I just thought, `This is ridiculous`," she said. "I mean, what kind of example is that to a young girl sitting at home? I thought, well I don`t really care if they think I am fat, because, quite honestly, I did gain about 30 pounds," Gaga added. PTI
