New Delhi: Aamir Khan, whose TV debut in ‘Satyamev Jayate’ helped him create a position for himself in the realm of social activists, apparently let go of a huge amount of money during those days. ‘Satyamev Jayate’ aired for thirteen episodes over a period of three months from May to August 2012. Aamir Khan made sure that none of the brands that he is associated with air their advertisements during the ‘Satyamev Jayate’ slot.
In order to prevent the brands from cashing in on the popularity of the programme, Aamir is said to have taken the aforementioned step. And his loss in the deal? A whopping amount of 150 crores!
According to what a source informed a tabloid, “Aamir is now going for a complete image makeover and wants to go the social way. He wants to get involved with social causes only.”
The “Incredible India” campaign is the only brand that will still have the privilege of being endorsed by Aamir. He, apparently, has terminated all existing contracts with other companies.
Aamir Khan is also supposed to have begun work on the second season of ‘Satyamev Jayate’, which is to go on for another thirteen episodes.
