Mumbai: Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan, who has managed to get recognition in Bollywood, feels people in the Bhojpuri cinema are unwilling to expand their horizons and feel happy the way they are.
"Everyone there is a singer, except me. I tell them that besides singing, they should also stress upon growing as an actor. But they don`t want to... they are happy the way they are. They are juniors and I wish them all the best," the 40-year-old actor said here while promoting his latest film ‘Chaalis Chaurasi’ at a radio station.
Ravi is a well-known star in Bhojpuri films and has also worked in Hindi films like ‘Tere Naam’, ‘Luck’, ‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’ and ‘Well Done Abba’.
The actor says his stint in the regional film industry helped him in understanding cinema.
"I have worked in Bhojpuri cinema and have learned everything here. I have been here for 20-22 years and was lucky. I always tried to grow here," said Ravi.
‘Chaalis Chaurasi’ is releasing Jan 13 and Ravi will be seen sharing screen space with Naseeruddin Shah, Kay Kay Menon and Atul Kulkarni.
