To showcase the manufacturing, innovation and skill of India to the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off Make in India Week in Mumbai today.

Mumbai: Taking the ambition of the NDA government of making India world's manufacturing hub forward, Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off  Make in India Week Saturday.

The PM opened the Business Centre in Mumbai today that has around 27 pavilions from different sectors and companies including Indian and international participants.

Make in India week has been jointly organised by the Central government and Maharashtra state government at the MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex.

The Swedish Prime Minister Kjell Stefan Lofven and Prime Minister of Finland, Juha Petri Sipila accompanied the PM during the inaugural session of the Business Centre.

The Make In India Centre at the event aims to showcase country's achievements in the manufacturing, innovation and designing might. Over 9000 delegates are expected to participate in different events.

Modi government started the campaign of Make in India in September 2014. 

PM took a walk through of different pavilions showcasing products from different sectors accompanied by international guests. He also held a bilateral meet with Finland's PM Juha Sipilä and invited Finland to  join Make in India in innovation, engineering, power plants and biotech.
