New Delhi: Noted industrialist and Bajaj Auto Chairman Rahul Bajaj on Wednesday said economic reforms will continue irrespective of the outcome of Bihar assembly elections.
"There will be implications. Those who say there will no implication, I don't agree with them. There will be implications, one way or the other... The way I see Mr Modi, the FM and others in the BJP, irrespective of whether they lose or win, the reforms will continue," he told reporters on the sidelines of a WEF meeting.
On the other hand, he added, the reforms might be pursued more vigorously if the ruling NDA loses elections.
"I don't know about Bihar result, but I think reforms will continue... May be a man like Arun Jaitley will say reforms will continue with more vigour if we lose," he said.
Bihar election result will be announced on November 8 and tomorrow is the fifth and last phase of voting.
Talking about various legislations, Bajaj said, there is almost a consensus on GST and bankruptcy law, though there are issues on the land bill.
"Land bill is a different issue, that will not be passed. To some extent there is no choice. Second, land is a state matter largely, now how much now will happen is a question mark," he said.
"Bankruptcy law and GST law is not like that. Everybody wants that. The question is that mood appears to be terrible between the BJP and Congress," he added.
