New Delhi: Retail inflation for farm labourers and rural workers in November rose to 4.92 percent and 5.02 percent, respectively, due to increase in prices of
food items.
The corresponding figures were 4.43 percent and 4.66 percent in October. "Point-to-point rate of inflation based on consumer price index-agricultural labourers and CPI-rural labourers increased from 4.43 percent and 4.66 percent in October 2015 to 4.92 percent and 5.02 percent in November 2015," a Labour
Ministry press release said.
According to the statement, food inflation under CPI-AL and CPI-RL came in at 4.79 per cent and 5.15 per cent, respectively, in November 2015.
All-India CPI numbers for agricultural and rural labourers for November rose 4 points each to 853 points and 857 points,
respectively.
CPI-AL and RL of Tamil Nadu registered the maximum increase of 18 points and 17 points, respectively. In contrast, Meghalaya saw the maximum fall of 9 points each.
