New Delhi: Global economists may have started looking at India as the bright spot in a gloomy world economy, but at home, in the backward state of Uttar Pradesh, an economics lecturer has no idea what 'audit' means and thinks that IMF stands for International Monetary Found.
As per The Times of India report, the quality of teachers hired by some colleges affiliated with Uttar Pradesh universities came to light when the centre's evaluation coordinator interacted and grilled the lecturers teaching different subjects including economics at colleges in UP.
The answer sheets were being evaluated at the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Managagement a few days ago. The matter highlights the rot in Indian education system that needs to be tackled on an urgent basis if India truly wants to be a bright star on the world map.
