Melbourne: Antonio Banderas has revealed that if he was trying to win someone’s heart, he would use humour to impress the girl. The ‘Desperado’ star said that he believes very much in a sense of humour.
He thinks it is equal to irony, and irony is according to him equal to intelligence.
“But if you want to seduce a woman, if you can make her laugh, if you succeed with that, then you’re 50 per cent of the way there,” News.com.au quoted him as saying.
He said that one has to be very good in the other 50 percent of course, but “if you can make a woman laugh” he thinks that is really important.
“I would just try to be yourself as much as you can, because in the first encounters between two people when you try to be liked, you may pretend that you’re better than you are - and that would be cheating. I would try to be as much me as myself can be, and see if that is liked by the other person,” he said.
The traditional dates he has had were dinners, but if he was making a romantic dinner he said he would probably cook some fish, some good fish like swordfish or salmon.
He’d put it on a bed of onion, use some oil, extra virgin, just a little bit of salt, a little bit of rosemary, cover it and cook it over a very slow fire so that the oil never gets toxic, and you produce kind of a vapour that little by little makes the fish very tender. And then wine, good wine - probably red wine, he added.
