New Delhi: The legendary pop star who died on Saturday, Whitney Houston was loved by millions all over the world. And her fans included a few names that the modern world shudders to think of. Such as, well, Osama Bin Laden.
The brain behind the notorious 9/11 attacks that killed thousands of people and injured many more, was an avid listener of Houston’s wide-acclaimed and much-loved single, ‘I Will Always Love You’. According to poet and activist Kola Boof, who reportedly resided with Bin Laden for several months in 1996, has mentioned the terrorist mastermind’s love for Whitney – which bordered on obsession.
In Boof’s memoir, ‘Diary of a Lost Girl: The Autobiography of Kola Boof’, the author speaks of Bin Laden’s fervour for Houston. Her marital status did not matter much to the orchestrator of the 9/11 attacks, he had plans to simply wipe Bobby Brown out.
Mentions Boof in her autobiography, “Whitney Houston`s name was the one that would be mentioned constantly. How beautiful she was, what a nice smile she has, how truly Islamic she is but is just brainwashed by American culture and by her husband Bobby Brown, whom Osama talked about having killed, as if it were normal to have women`s husbands killed.”
Osama Bin laden, thankfully, did not live long enough to turn his desire into reality. Yet, his love for the singer was undying.
Whitney Houston was discovered dead in her hotel room just ahead of the Grammy Awards on Saturday. Her untimely and sudden death sent tremors of shock all through the music firmament.
