Washington: Michael Jackson`s personal physician Conrad Murray, who is currently serving time for involuntary manslaughter, never received any money from the superstar`s concert promoters as the late singer died before signing on the medic`s contract.
Murray`s employment conditions have come under heavy scrutiny as the King of Pop`s mother, Katherine Jackson, has allegedly claimed that Aeg executives were responsible for hiring unqualified doctor to treat her son, Contactmusic reported.
Julie Hollander, Aeg Live`s vice president and controller of event operations, reportedly challenged that notion in a Los Angeles court by producing the firm`s budget report on Monday.
During her witness testimony, Hollander revealed that the company had spent 24 million dollars on producing Michael`s doomed `This Is It` residency in London, and had budgeted an additional 150,000 dollars a month for Murray`s costs.
Hollander added that the doctor, who had been in line to receive a 1.5 million dollars payday if the contract had been approved, was never paid anything as Michael did not officially sign the legal documents.
