Los Angeles: Hollywood actress Amanda Bynes, who was arrested for drug possession, does not need to go to a rehabilitation centre, according to her parents.
Her mother Lynn and father Rick want her to seek treatment at a psychiatric hospital instead, reports contactmusic.com.
"Amanda has been clearly using drugs, yes, including marijuana, but that is just the symptom. The fact is Amanda suffers from severe mental health issues that she refuses to accept. Rick and Lynn want her to seek in-patient treatment at a psychiatric hospital so she can be properly treated," contactmusic.com quoted a source as saying.
The "She`s The Man" star, was charged with attempted evidence tampering, reckless endangerment and marijuana possession in court Friday after police received a report of a disorderly person and arrested her at her New York City apartment Thursday.
However, sources have said that Bynes is still resisting help and she even refused to see a psychiatrist.
