Mumbai: Bollywood has reacted strongly against the
Guwahati molestation case. Celebrities have condemned the incident and have demanded harsh punishment for the culprits.
Ever since the video, which showed a Class XI girl getting molested by a mob of 20 men in Guwahati, went viral, the nation has been shocked and outraged with the fact that men have been roaming around freely after committing such a barbaric act.
Superstar Amitabh Bachchan took to twitter to speak about the incident and questioned those who filmed the entire incident without offering any help. Bachchan wrote, “- Horrid visuals on TV of molestation of young girl..but just a point..how does TV crew know of it live..and..why don`t they intervene(sic)”
Ace photographer Atul Kasbekar blamed the police for not arresting the culprits and wrote, “Either the ?#Guwahati? police are spectacularly inefficient or they don`t give a damn. The latter scenario is very scary.(sic)”
Music composer and singer Vishal Dadlani questioned the society we live in and tweeted, “20 men publicly strip a girl in Guwahati. What sorta degenerate nation have we become?(sic)”
Singer Sophie Choudhary felt that brutal punishment should be meted out for the accused. She wrote, “They ought 2 b stripped & hung publicly!(sic)”
Of the 20 accused in the case, so far only 5 men have been arrested by the police.
