Comedian-actor Vir Das has seven films lined up for release

Stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das, known for his role in `Delhi Belly`, has got seven films releasing this year.

Mumbai: Stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das, known for his role in `Delhi Belly`, has got seven films releasing this year.
Though, Vir had made his acting debut with `Mumbai Salsa` and later did films like `Namastey London`, `Love Aaj Kal` and `Badmaash Company`, it was Aamir Khan`s home production `Delhi Belly` that brought fame to the actor. So far Vir was a part of multi-starrer films, but now he has got his solo films lined up for release. "For me `Delhi Belly` was a nice booster in my career. I was flooded with offers soon after the film released. I had signed five films by August 15 and `Delhi Belly` had released in July. That is the kind of response that the film created for me," Vir said in an interview. "I thank Aamir Khan for giving me this film and I got to sign five films in 45 days. Now I am trying to find balance with stand up stand up comedy and films," he said. Vir is quite excited as he will have his films releasing every two months now on. "I have seven films hopefully all releasing this year where I am in the lead. So every two months I will be seen in a film," he said. The stand-up comedian-actor will be seen next in `Go Goa Gone`, a zombie-comedy film, `Super Se Uper` a love story, `Amit Sahni Ki List` which is a rom-com, `Gollu Aur Pappu` a kids film, Tigmanshu Dhulia`s `Revolver Rani`, `Santa Aur Banta` and Pritish Nandy`s home production film `Shaadi Ke Side Effects` "There is `Super Se Uper` with Kirti Khulhari which is shot in Rajasthan. Then I have `Amit Sahni Ki List` a rom-com, `Gollu Aur Pappu` with Kunaal Roy Kapur, `Revolver Rani` a dark gritty, action dramatic film of Tigmanshu Dhulia, in which I would be romancing Kangana Ranuat," he said. "And then I have `Santa Aur Banta` with Boman Irani, `Shaadi Ke Side Effects` with Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhtar," he added. The actor is excited about his upcoming zombie-comedy film `Go Goa Gone`. The film is directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK and also features Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, theatre actor Anand Tiwari and Puja Gupta. "I am really happy, optimistic about the film now. Audience today is very intelligent, in 30 seconds they decide what they like and dislike. We hope that we will able to keep the audience in the theatres," Vir said. The actor says the kind of comedy in `Go Goa Gone` is very different. "Comedy comes from confusion. And in this film the characters are confused they don`t know how to run away or kill a zombie. The audience as well as the characters in this film are equally confused about zombie so that is very interesting comedy," he said. Produced by Saif Ali Khan, the film is set to release on May 10.
