New Delhi: Osianama, a cultural centre providing access to film memorabilia and archives, will open its doors to the public in the national capital in September and not Mumbai as earlier scheduled.
The Osianama was earlier scheduled to open at the Minerva theatre in Mumbai in 2009. However, there`s a change in plan, Osian chairman Neville Tuli said at a press conference here Wednesday.
"We have Osianama coming up in September in Delhi, rather than in Mumbai. Obviously I am saddened I couldn`t build it in Minerva. But don`t ask why," Tuli said.
Now Osianama will open at The Kila Complex in Mehrauli and the cultural centre will house a multiplex, library, media archives and an art gallery.
"It is very important that we take every step towards building a cinematic culture - whether it is to do with respecting your heritage or film memorabilia. They need to be preserved, they need to be respected. If we don`t respect history, we are disregarding our own work," he added.
