Never ignore studies for fame, `Indian Idol 6` finalist

The young and talented ‘Indian Idol 6’ finalist Devendra Pal Singh, who has begun his career in playback singing with "Loni hassen", says he will never ignore his studies to be on camera.

New Delhi: The young and talented ‘Indian Idol 6’ finalist Devendra Pal Singh, who has begun his career in playback singing with "Loni hassen", says he will never ignore his studies to be on camera.
Post the show, the 17-year-old has been on a roll and is now looking forward to giving his Class 12 exams in March next year. "For me, everything is the same post `Indian Idol 6`. But for others, it is different. People recognise me and treat me as a star. I am very thankful to god for being so kind to me," Singh said. "After spending four months in `Indian Idol 6`, doing some live shows and recording my first movie song, I am going to appear for my Class 12 exams next year. I will keep singing and doing live shows, but will never ignore my studies. And I believe no one should do that," he said. Singh has been learning classical music for five years now and plays the harmonium. During the show, he especially impressed singing legend Asha Bhosle with his melodious voice. Singh has recorded his first album ‘Indian Idol - Fabulous Four’ with his co-contestants Amit Kumar, Vipul Mehta and Poorvi Koutish. It was launched last month by Universal Music. The Ludhiana-based youngster, who does not miss his `riyaaz` even for a single day, has been travelling across the country for live shows. He also plans to shift base to Mumbai as soon as he is done with his exams. IANS
