Los Angeles: Actress Elizabeth Olsen has confirmed that she will be the female lead in the new "Godzilla" film.
Olsen, 23, has signed up for the Warner Bros` reboot of the monster franchise and she has promised fans the film will be returning to its` original dark Japanese roots as opposed to the 1998 film which starred Matthew Broderick, reported Ace Showbiz.
"It`s definitely going to be different. It`s not light-hearted fare. It`s going back to its roots and its core - the reason why the Japanese made it, kind of," she said.
The actress, who is the younger sister of fashion designers Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, was thrilled to be at the BAFTAs.
"It`s just really cool to be part of this British tradition. It`s great to be here."
