London: English singer Adele has reportedly trademarked her name to ensure that no brand of perfume or jewellery uses it for promotion.
The 24-year-old has filed an application with the country`s Intellectual Property Office, reports thesun.co.uk.
"She doesn`t want anyone exploiting her name by using it on products which may trick punters into thinking she`s involved with it," a source said.
A trademark would mean Adele could take legal action against anyone who uses her name to market a product she has not approved, such as perfume or jewellery.
